The Heartland Womens Leadership council is introducing an event all about shoes! It promised to be an interesting twist to traditional fashion shows, and gives you and opportunity to wear your most bodacious pair of shoes with your favorite black dress. Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for the initial assessment of interested individuals into the culinary arts training program. This person is also responsible for the placement of trainees into unsubsidized employment before/upon their graduation from the culinary arts training program.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Develop strategies for the employment placement of trainees.
2. Meet employment placement program goals on a monthly and annual basis.
3. Identify appropriate jobs for trainees.
4. Successfully market the institute’s training and employment services to prospective employers and recruit them to participate in job placement activities.
5. Interact with employers, identify employment opportunities for trainees and place into unsubsidized employment.
6. Develop a professional working relationship with the trainees to help them overcome barriers to their employment through assessments, case management, and counseling.
7. Complete coherent, logical, and sequential training and employment plans with the trainees.
8. Provide specific case management activities with an emphasis on job training and employment placement.
9. Provide follow-up activities and interaction emphasizing employment.
10. Assist in special projects involving job training, employment, and other agency programs as assigned.
11. Use innovative and creative methods to meet and exceed program goals and efforts.
12. Successfully reach job placement goal of 70% of culinary arts trainees into unsubsidized employment in the foodservice industry.
13. Perform all related paperwork and compliance requirements in a correct, prompt and timely manner.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by Director – Culinary Arts & Special Events.
Supervision:
None
Minimum Requirements:
1. BA or BA in related fields such as education, counseling, marketing, sociology, etc.
2. Commensurate work experience may be substituted for college degree.
3. Knowledge of job training programs, goals, objectives, and procedures.
4. Ability to adapt quickly and learn to work in an accelerated, goal-oriented, diverse environment to effectively and efficiently place associates in culinary jobs and meet program goals and deadlines.
5. Working knowledge of GCI and partner organizations, program trainee population and program procedures.
6. Ability to use counseling/case management techniques to place trainees into unsubsidized employment.
7. Ability to use counseling/case management techniques which include how to handle confidential information.
8. Ability to work on team, cooperate with others and be a self-starter to achieve and exceed program goals including a flexible work schedule as instructed.
9. Ability to communicate effectively in both speaking and writing.
10. Ability to place associates in culinary jobs through effective work relationships with the trainees and culinary industry employers.
11. Ability to be flexible and implement multi-tasks as required by job and/or assigned by the Director – Culinary Arts & Special Events.
12. Able to demonstrate and use marketing/sales ability to function in a system with an extreme emphasis on the placement of trainees to meet and/or exceed program goals.
13. Ability to have and maintain reliable transportation and its related insurance requirements.
14. Have cultural sensitivity and knowledge of the trainee population.

Introducting Touchdown Family Fest!
Friends,
I hope that you had an excellent 4th of July weekend. It’s 4th & Goal time and we’re depending on our offense (you) to make Touchdown Family Fest (TFF) a great event! We are in the final prep stages for TFF on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 from 10am – 4pm and need your help in promoting the event. We ask that you please forward the attached flyer to your networks, post on your Facebook page, tweet, call your friends- whatever you can do to help us make this a successful event. We’re offering FREE health screenings, FREE immunizations, and FREE sports physicals along with a variety of other FREE health services at Arrowhead Stadium. We expect appearances by KC Wolf, Chiefs Cheerleaders, DJ Soap, DJ Ashton Martin, Making Movies, and some surprise guests along the way.
