Job Title: Manager of Special Projects

Reports To: Office of the Chair and President/CEO

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:

The Manager of Special Projects is often the “first face” people see when connecting with Camp Fire’s Office of the National Chair and President/CEO. S/he must possess exceptional communication and customer service skills; demonstrate sound judgment; reflect the open environment the organization is committed to; and represent Camp Fire in both presentation and appearance in a highly professional manner.
S/he will manage, collaborate on and execute a wide variety of projects across functional areas. Because Camp Fire is a dynamic and growing organization, this role requires someone who is self-motivated and a true team player. S/he will be expected to lead and manage projects that are time sensitive and critical to organization success. Given the diversity of initiatives, the Manager of Special Projects must be versatile, flexible, and promptly learn and act on new information, while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manager of Special Projects will support and manage projects across various functional areas at Camp Fire, including, but not limited to, the following:

Office of the Chair and President/CEO:

1. Provide ongoing administrative support to the President/CEO.
2. Provide staff support to the national Chair and to Trustees, as needed.
3. Conduct research, fact finding and analysis in support of proposed or active organization initiatives of particular importance to national leadership.
4. Develop and prepare reports, presentations and other key documents for use by the Chair and/or President/CEO.
5. Support and participate in the design and delivery of select national meetings and conferences.
6. Plan and manage logistics for national Board of Trustee meetings.

External Relations:

1. Provide ongoing administrative support to the Chief, External Relations Officer.
2. Manage a variety of projects supporting Camp Fire’s national partnerships, particularly as Camp Fire expands the number of corporate and philanthropic partners.
3. Conduct donor and corporate prospect research, as required; including assessment of options and opportunity.
4. Provide public policy support, as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience, including
1. Experience working at the C-suite level;
2. Commitment to the goals for positive youth development;
3. Strong written and oral communication skills; and interpersonal skills;
4. Skillful attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through;
5. Track record of maintaining confidential and sensitive information;
6. Analytical and problem-solving skills;
7. Flexibility; ability to work autonomously;
8. A team player willing to work on tight timelines and pitch in when needed;
9. Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, fund development software, internet
research, social media)
10. A positive attitude, patience, and persistence, especially when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Limited travel required, including nights and weekends.
