#KC Social Media Command Center Prepares to Welcome
Visitors
The Kansas City CVA is partnering with the City of Kansas City, Mayor Sly James, Social Media Club of Kansas City, H&R Block, Barkley and Spiral16 to establish and run a Social Media Command Center in conjunction with All-Star Week, July 6-10. The #KC Social Media Command Center will lead the charge on Twitter, Facebook and other social media channels to welcome visitors and enhance their All-Star experience. Stationed at H&R Block’s international headquarters at the Power & Light District, a team of volunteers will be available throughout the weekend to immediately respond to visitors’ questions and concerns. To learn more, check out this overview on the KCCVA blog.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Follow Us: For the latest ASG updates, we encourage you to follow and interact with us on the KCCVA’s social media channels:
- Incorporate Hashtags: Use your networks to let visitors know that they can tweet at @VisitKC or use the hashtag #KC to get answers to general questions they have about the city, as well as ideas about places to eat, drink and see while they're here. We’ll have the manpower to make sure they get timely assistance. MLB’s official hashtags include #ASG for general updates and #HRDerby for Monday’s State Farm Home Run Derby.
- Expect More Traffic: We're hoping that those of you with social accounts will be active, updating regularly with information like specials, hours and wait times. We'll be referencing your Twitter handles and Facebook pages when we can, so you may get a higher volume of questions or comments than normal.
